About Pam
I’m running for the Maine House because I believe good government starts with listening to your neighbors, solving real problems, and doing what’s best for the community.
My family’s story stretches back generations to Bangor, Bucksport, and Stockton Springs, where some of my favorite childhood memories were simple ones: skating on the beaver pond, sledding with my dog, and helping my grandmother tend her flower garden while hoping a late frost wouldn’t undo all our work. Those experiences shaped my love for this state, our land, and the people who call Maine home.
I began my career studying animal science before pursuing medicine and becoming an obstetrician-gynecologist. For more than two decades, I cared for women and families, including high-risk pregnancies, and eventually became a partner in a large medical practice. That gave me a deep understanding of healthcare, what it takes to build a family, and what it takes to build a business. Later, my husband Don and I returned to my agricultural roots and built a farm in Palermo, where up until this past year we raised sheep, organic laying hens, and pigs. Farming has gave me an even deeper appreciation for the challenges and resilience of Maine families and small businesses.
Serving on the Palermo Select Board has shown me what can happen when people with different viewpoints work together toward common goals. I want to bring that same practical, community-focused approach to Augusta and fight for you to have affordable healthcare, lower prescription drug costs, stronger support for family farms, solutions to the opioid crisis, and protections for our food, water, and land from threats like PFAS.

Working Together
I believe good government starts with listening, respect, and a willingness to work with people who may not agree on everything. My experience on the Palermo Select Board has shown me that communities are strongest when we focus on solutions instead of politics. In Augusta, I’ll work across party lines to tackle real challenges and deliver practical results for the people I serve.
Affordability
We’re all being squeezed by rising costs. We need practical solutions that make everyday life more affordable, support working families and seniors, and help people keep more of what they earn.
Healthcare
As a physician, I spent decades caring for families through some of the most important and difficult moments of their lives. I know how critical affordable, accessible healthcare is. I’ll fight to lower prescription drug costs, strengthen rural healthcare access, and make sure people can get the care they need without financial hardship.
Farming & Local Food
Farming taught me firsthand about hard work, uncertainty, and the importance of strong local food systems. On our farm in Palermo, my husband and I raised sheep, organic laying hens, and pigs, and I understand the challenges family farms face. I’ll work to support Maine farmers, protect working lands, strengthen local agriculture, and keep our food supply safe and resilient.
Protecting Maine’s Future
Maine’s land, water, and natural resources are part of who we are. I believe we have a responsibility to protect them for future generations. I’ll work to address threats like PFAS contamination, safeguard clean water and farmland, and pursue common-sense environmental policies that protect both public health and Maine livelihoods.
